I have been unable to bring up Apple CarPlay on my 2019 Hyundai Kona for a couple of weeks. The icon on my info screen is ghosted and will not highlight. I have tried to reconnect following my Kona manual, uTube and Apple, all with no joy.

I have been unable to bring up Apple CarPlay on my 2019 Hyundai Kona for a couple of weeks. The icon on my info screen is ghosted and will not highlight. I have tried to reconnect following my Kona manual, uTube and Apple, all with no joy.

I have followed instructions from Apple, YouTube, Hyundai online video, and manual with same negative result. I have Siri, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. My iPhone is a XR with iOS 16.6. Also, I’ve tried my wife’s iPhone without success. Is this a common problem with Hyundai? Is there something missing from my iPhone XR?

Have you tried a different cable? Are you sure you have the cable plugged into the correct USB port?

Are you able to update the software on the CAR? IE, the car software?

I cannot, however I have a warrantee appt at the dealership on Tuesday—and I think that was part of the agenda. Hyundai have been theft prone as you may have heard and this update may solve that problem.
