pano camera not capturing full image

When I take a panoramic photo I hit the shutter once, pan across the scene, and hit the shutter again to end my capture. I see a nice preview of what I’m photographing while taking the photo, but when I go to view the photo I’m only seeing a small slice of it, like the camera isn’t stitching everything all together.

-I have the iPhone 14.

-taking pano in portrait.

-panning in the direction of the arrow

how do I get pano cam to work?

I presume you are using the iOS camera app.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with capturing and viewing panoramic photos. The problem you're describing might be due to several factors, including camera settings, software limitations, or technique. Here are some possible reasons and solutions for the issue you're facing:

  1. Ensure that your camera is set to the panoramic mode or a wide-angle mode that's meant for capturing panoramic shots. Sometimes, cameras have specific settings that need to be enabled for proper panoramic stitching.
  2. Make sure you're panning the camera smoothly and consistently across the scene. If there's too much vertical or horizontal movement between shots, it can be difficult for the camera's software to stitch the images together accurately.
  3. Panoramic photos require a certain amount of overlap between consecutive shots for proper stitching. This helps the software identify common elements between frames. If you're not giving enough overlap, the stitching might fail, resulting in a partial or incomplete image.
  4. It's important to keep the camera steady while capturing a panoramic shot. Using a tripod can help eliminate unintended camera movements that might affect stitching.
  5. It's possible that there's a misunderstanding or mistake in your capturing process. Take panoramic photos with your iPhone camera · Choose Pano mode. · Tap the Shutter button. · Pan slowly in the direction of the arrow, keeping it in the center ...
