Brand New iPhone 14 Pro Screen Unresponsive to Touch

I purchased an iPhone 14 Pro 10 days ago and this morning when I plugged it in to charge, the phone turned on, but the screen was unresponsive to touch. I tried doing a hard reset a handful of times and then plugged it into my Mac to initiate dfu recovery mode. My computer was able to download the newest software to my iphone, but once it was recovered, the screen was still unresponsive to touch. The phone was not dropped, does not have any screen damage nor has any water damage. Does anyone have any other ideas for how to get my screen working again? Thank you!

Sorry to hear of your new phone “buzz kill.”

Return it for a refund ASAP!

A new iPhone should NOT have any hardware issues; but infant mortality still occasionally occurs.

Apple has a generous 14-day return window for these sorts of circumstances; don’t hesitate to exercise it.

Sorry, but you’re going to have to deal w/ AT&T. 😕

Insist on a replacement phone w/ Apple’s distinctive “green arrow pull-tab” tamper-evident seal(s) still intact.

(example of tamper-evident seals — on AirPod package — is attached below)

There’s no valid reason why AT&T would need to have opened the box prior to handing it to you.

Thank you! This is helpful! I went to another AT&T store and they said that they are not able to exchange iPhones, but that Apple needs too. Then I went to Apple and talked with one of the managers and she kindly apologized and said that Apple cannot replace it since I purchased it at AT&T. Then I called AT&T and they said that only Apple can replace it haha! Not to self and anyone else out there ... only purchase a new iPhone through Apple!

I agree haha! Thank you for your response! I purchased my phone at AT&T and they are not able to help with these types of issues without their managers there and they don't work on Sundays in my area. Do you or does anyone know if the Apple Store would be able to exchange it or can only AT&T?
