External Monitor Flickering w/ LG 27GN950-B

My 16 inch Apple M2 Pro (2023), when connected to LG 27GN950-B with either HMDI cable or type-c to DP cable, lead to a flickering effect on the monitor, which is especially obvious at the brighter regions.

By flickering, I mean the brightness on the screen seems to be quickly dimming and coming back to normal which is obvious to the eye.

I've tried changing color description files, refresh rates, calibration, disabling automatic brightness adjustment, yet none of the common solutions found online really works.

I'm just trying to figure out why this is happening to M1/M2 chip macs, and if so which screens is safe from such compatibility issues, so that I can make the right purchase--

Thanks!

I have the LG UN32880-B 4K UltraFine Ergo display and it has been rock solid now for two years. It is connected to my M2 Mac mini Pro with a Belkin UltraHD High Speed 8K/4K HDMI 2.1 cable, and before that to my M1 Mac mini. High Dynamic Range remains off in the Settings : Displays panel and I use the detected LG HDR 4K Color profile.

I also happened to purchase the LG DisplayPort to 4K UltraHD HDMI adapter and I found no win in screen appearance over the HDMI solution. I did notice that my LG display has screen settings for DisplayPort 1.2 and 1.4 and you might experiment with those comparable settings on your 27GN950-B to see if it resolves flickers, or if it is your cable. If it doesn't, and it isn't your HDMI cable, then you may have a defective LG display.
