I do a google search for a particular person, place or thing. I click on a result that looks helpful. The phone then skips the first page of that result which sometimes means I can’t do anything.

Skipping Pages:
A. Being Redirected:
Likely, it is redirecting you from when you first visit the page --something on the site's end and nothing you can really do about it. It's authored into the HTML code of the Web site.
B. See if Any Contact Blockers are Present:
It may be an add that is being blocked out, though an all you are using. So, see if there are any Content Blockers...
Go to: Settings
Tap: Safari
Tap: Content Blockers
