Logging out of Child iCloud on MacBook

I am trying to wipe my child’s MacBook to sell or give away. I’m trying to log them out of Apple ID, but the sign out button is grayed out. I’ve tried turning off restrictions and I’ve turned off screen time, but it still wont allow me to sign out of iCloud. I’ve also restarted the Mac twice. Any suggestions? What if I delete the Mac without signing out of the Apple ID?

If you delete the Mac without signing out, it will be activation locked and the buyer cannot do anything without it

You will need to turn screen time off via the parents account, it is not possible via the Childs account. See this instructions

go to Settings > account name > Family Sharing > Screen Time > child's name and tap Turn Off Screen Time and do this on your own device
