How do I recalibrate the gps on my iPhone 11 it seems to be off sometimes anywhere from 18 miles to at times several thousand miles, any Ideas what accuse that and how to fix it ?

It just happens randomly, and is so irritating, it’s happened for more than a year now and seems to fluctuate.

Reset phone (iphone 16 pro max on iOS 18), also deleted and reloaded GPS apps. We stopped using carplay although no change to carplay softare (if that is even possible). I get a messages that GPS signal is has a problem - therefore the system is using an approximate location. Some suggest turning off bluetooth, toggling airplane mode etc, but many users attempting myriad options is not improving the situation. Surely apple service people are having this problem as well? A second 16 pro max, purchased via AT&T at the same time, does not appear to have the problem. I have spent more than 1.5 hours on the phone with a very helpful apple customer service person and 45 minutes with a tech in an apple store (who had no idea that this is a fairly prevalent issue). There seems to be no acknowledgement of this issue by Apple to date, let alone recommendations for a fix or any official response that I have seen. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Try this first the pic below is self-explanatory

Use the compass on iPhone

For accurate bearings, hold iPhone flat to align the crosshairs at the center of the compass.
To lock your current direction, tap the compass dial. A red band appears when you're off course.
