Deleting safari history for kids devices with family sharing

I had a nightmare trying to delete history from my kids Apple devices, tried lots of ways removing restrictions etc… mentioned but it kept staying greyed out. Eventually I found, what I had to do was from my device (organiser family sharing) then go into screen time scroll down to the bottom turn OFF screen time, then I could go into my kids device delete history, then go back to my device and turn screen time back ON, then you have to reset your screen time settings. All fixed ( took me 3hrs to find this out ).
