Have you enabled the iPad’s corner-swipe gestures?
Settings > General > Gestures >
Left Corner Swipe - select Screenshot, Quick Note or Off
Right Corner Swipe - select Screenshot, Quick Note or Off
If one or other (or both) corner-swipe gestures are configured for a screenshot, simply swiping with an Apple Pencil or your finger from the corner to the centre of the screen will trigger capture of a screenshot.
To use your finger, you must also enable one other setting:
Settings > General > Gestures > Allow Finger to Swipe from Corner - set to ON
You can also use "Hey, Siri, take a screenshot".
