Microphone issue during video calls on various apps when speaker mode is on

I am facing issue on various video calls apps eg facetime, messenger, viber, whatspp that voice is muted on other end when speaker mode is on. Its iphone 12 pro max bought 2 years back running on ios 16.6.

Problem is only during video calls and no issue during audio calls.

I tested hardware microphone using video, voice recording etc all seems ok. Not sure if its hw issue or ios issue? Has anyone experienced similar issue? What could be solution? Shall I exchange my phone assuming its hardware microphone issue or wait for next ios update assuming its ios bug? -Thanks.

Microphone is located at the bottom of the iPhone, make sure you're not covering the microphone with your hand or while placing it vertically on a table or a phone stand during video calls. Thank you so much for your response. I’ve tried all that you mentioned above, microphone still not working.

I tried the Hey Siri option as well, I called out saying “Hey Siri” but my phone did jot respond. I went to Voice Memos app and tried recording myself talking, which didn’t work either. So I came to the conclusion that my microphone is broken. So I need to go to Apple Support.

Any way of fixing it from home?
