Apple email cannot delete some SPAM emails iPhone 8+

iPhone 8 Plus IOS 16.6 Apple email client bundled with iPhone.

Some Spam emails appear to be scripted to deselect themselves when moved to the trash; this happens;

  1. Spam selected and moved to trash - retrieved from MS Outlook server, doesn't happen on Apple iCloud server yet.
  2. Within Apple mail Spam Folder -> Select All -> Move to Trash -> Delete
  3. Some emails then deselect themselves
  4. Repeat select all - hit delete button
  5. Same emails deselect themselves again!
  6. Repeat select all - hit delete
  7. Same emails deselect themselves and will not Delete until 5 attempts at deleting are repeated

What is going on? I have run various virus and trojan scans nothing reported amiss.

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 16

Troubleshooting iCloud eMail Spam:

Check your eMail Filters:

Go here: Report and Reduce Spam in iCloud Mail - Apple Support

Uninstall the Security Software:

Security Software just gets in the way on an apple device, and this is pure example of how and why. So, hold your finder on the app's icon until it wiggles, and then tap the "X" on the top corner of the wiggling icon.

OK. So who is the eMail provider? Is it Apple? Or is it someone else?

A. Go App-for-App:

If using gmail (as am example), then use the gMail app, and you might get a more successful outcome there.

B. Use a Computer:

Troubleshoot all of these filters using a computer, as it would be more user-friendly dong so.

Thank you for answering my question but you misunderstand my question, *online scanners* reported nothing amiss on my iPhone. I don't have virus software installed on my iPhone as I already know its unnecessary. I tried online scanners (emisoft Malware Bytes) because this is trojan/virus/scripted behaviour that the SPAM email is exhibiting. Spam only coming from two email addresses in Britain, obviously someone has my email address. I have created some Rules on my Desktop iMac and sync'd my iPhone and iMac to ensure my iPhone sees the new rules.

Please understand, as stated in my original request for help, I've been using Apple Computers and iPhones since they became available, so 1978 to 2023 for Apple Computers and 1998 to 2023 for iPhones. If it was as simple as deleting an app from my iPhone I wouldn't need to ask.

Thank you for your message.

There is no need to be rude. What would I know of you experiences, upfront? These are just user-to-user forums. You are not speaking directly with Apple here. These are all recommendation on my part.
