iPhone 12 Pro Max screen doesn’t register touches


G’day team, I’m running a iPhone 12 Pro Max and the screen doesn’t register touches (sometimes, becoming more regular). This includes when writing texts, swiping reddit, playing the odd game etc. But more annoyingly it happens when I receive calls which causes me to not be able to answer them.

Info to help:

  1. I’m on iOS 16.6
  2. The screen is clean (I use proper screen cleaning wipes and a microfibre cloth to clean it regularly)
  3. I’ve done a full reset
  4. No Water damage
  5. iPhone lives in the Mous case all the time.


I understand he phone is nearly 3 years old but this shouldn’t be happening.


Any ideas, help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps the sensitivity with touch screen haptics could be adjusted to benefit?

Some models iPhone iPad, etc of varying build year work different in this area.


Change 3D or Haptic Touch sensitivity on your iPhone - Apple Support

Should these settings fail to change issues or features, service may be needed.

Check settings for these features and re-select them at least twice; restart, etc.
