MacBook Air M1 via HDMI to Denon AVR - no HDR signal
Hi all,
- I have MacBook Air M1 (HDR10 compatible)
- I have Denon X4300H (HDR10 compatible)
- I have BenQ W2700 (HDR10 compatible)
- All 3 connected via 8k HDR10 compatible HDMI. Im playing HDR10 movie with IINA player.
- Movie is not being displayed in HDR (Benq info not showing HDR content, IINA HDR toggle is off)
- System Settings > Displays > Optimise for "Denon AVRHD"
- Mac is running on power cable
BUT
I use the same cables and setup and instead I connect Apple TV4k - HDR is immediately recognised by Denon/Benq and displayed in HDR.
I have answer from IINA support that Mac OS is controlling the HDR content not the player.
So ....
- its not the cable
- its not the AVR
- its not the projector
- its not the movie
- its not the player
MacBook Air is not recognising Denon AVR as HDR compatible device and is limiting the output.
Do you have any suggestions?
