Ipad is disabled connect to Itunes

My Ipad says "Ipad is disabled connect to Itunes".

I shut it off,

connected to the computer with cable,

pressed home button,

didn't get a recovery screen.

The support article about the restore screen contains the instructions you need to reset the device in this situation: If the Restore screen appears on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Make sure you hold down the buttons firmly enough and long enough
