iPad 3.2.2 w/ iBook and Voice Over - page turning?
I need to use Voice Over. I've configured Voice Over to toggle ON/Off with tripple HOME click, that works fine. I've downloaded several free books from iStore to test. They load fine and I can go page-by-page with gesture if Voice Over is off. Contrary to what I was told at the Apple Store, you can get VO to read the entire page rather than just the tapped line - it appears that double-tapping the second line (or subsequent?) will do the whole page. That's the good news.
The bad news is that there doesn't appear to be a way for visually impaired person to chang page. The bar at the bottom is useless - VO says 'double tap and hold then scroll" etc. but that doesn't work smoothly and if you do get the slider it jumps around - say you are on page 9, next thing you know you are on 12 etc. Scroll Up or Scroll Down doesn't work.
The only way I have found it to work is to tripple-click HOME to disable VO, then do normal page sweep, then tripple-tap HOME, wait for VO to talk about library button etc., then double-tap the second line. That process takes about half the time it takes to have it read a page.
There's got to be a better way. Anyone find it?
