Is Apple Card different from Apple Pay or wallet

When directed to apply for an Apple Card my IPad goes to my Wallet which I established with my existing credit card? Is this what Apple Card is?

ApplePay is a technical architecture which - among other things - allows you to place your existing credit and debit cards into your software Wallet and to make very secure “tokenized” transactions via NFC (tap to pay).

AppleCard is a credit card (Mastercard) which is VERY TIGHTLY integrated into Wallet and with your AppleID.
