How to recover recovery key

If you have another trusted device logged into your Apple ID you can generate a new key. Otherwise, you need your key to unlock your ID. Using a key means you are responsible for your account, Apple cannot help regain access.

She’s not a “Trusted” device …

… but she can receive codes from Apple as part of the “standard” Apple Account Recovery Process.

HOWEVER … IF the entirely optional Recovery Key has been generated … there is no Apple Account Recovery Process.

The ONLY recovery process is wholy owned by the “Key Generating User”

As a memory jog: You HAD to somehow record the 28 digit code as it has to be manually typed-back thru your keyboard when the code was activated (C&P doesn’t work).
