ABC iview and SBS on Demand not listed in apps store

We just moved to Australia from the USA and are here permanently.

we have a new Sony Bravia smart tv. We’ve have the tv connected and can get channels. However, when trying to find SBS on demand it’s not listed at all. We were able to get ABC iview, but it says it’s unsupported. Same thing with Netflix not working either.

any suggestions??

Do you have an Apple TV box?

Apple has no influence over third party apps on third party devices. Sony smart TVs are know to use the Google Play Store. The Apple TV app on third party devices brings iTunes Store content, Apple TV+, and in-app channels from select content providers, but not the many apps as made for the Apple TV box. To get Australian apps from the Australian App Store, you have to be signed in on an Apple device with an Apple ID account that is set to Australia (and have an Australian payment method linked to your account).

ABC iview app - App Store preview - Apple (AU) for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Apple TV box.

SBS On Demand - App Store preview - Apple (AU) for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Apple TV box.

Netflix should work ‘worldwide’ (190+ countries), regardless of Netflix account country, although their catalog may be partially localized based on geolocation from IP address.
