How to merge cells, keeping rows separate in Apple Numbers ?

Hi,

I’m wondering how to fix this issue quickly in one single step :

I got 2 columns : Column_A(Flags), Column_B(Country-Names)

I got 249 rows, like this : https://46elks.com/kb/country-codes.

How do I merge this bunch of cells (horizontally), while keeping the each row separate (vertically) ?

(I don’t want to repeat the action 249 times.)

Anyone knowing how to proceed ?

Thanx ahead :)

One way:

  1. Create a third column (C) that uses a formula to merge the contents of the other two columns. Cell C2 formula = A2&" "&B2. Copy/paste that to the rest of the column.
  2. When you have that done for the entire column, select that column, Copy, then Paste Formula Results. This will replace the formulas with their results, effectively merging the values from A and B
  3. Delete columns A and B as they are no longer needed. Or, if some other formulas are using column A, paste the merged values into column A and delete B and C
