Need Pages Formula to subtract 1 ( in one cell ) as 35 from larger number in another cell.

I need a formula to Subtract "35" from a large number (5,915) for every "1" added to a column of cells that all contain 0 (zeros) presently. So the large amount being 5,915, if I add a "1" to either of the cells that contain zero presently then that cell will have a "1" instead of a "0" with the large number subtracting "35".

So if I add a 1 to one of the cells the number 5,915 will subtract 35 and now show 5,880. If I add 2, the large number will subtract 70 (35x2).

Make sense? See image.

Hi Marc,

A table with a Header Row and a Footer Row. Just three Body Rows in this example.

Formula in Footer Cell C5: 169−SUM(D)

Formula in Footer Cell D5: 5915−35×SUM(D)

The beauty of Footer (and/or Header) Rows is that formulas can refer to all Body Cells, and will automatically accomodate extra or fewer rows.

Regards,

Ian.
