Maps by Apple.

I use Google Earth to mark many items in one location, with different pushpins etc, draw in old roads and use symbols in maps; can I do this in Apple Maps? I find that Apple Maps can give much better images, but google allows me to draw, mark a pathway, (say an old road no longer used eg) on a map and even create an overlay.

Can I configure Apple Maps to to do this too? what do I need to do to make this work? Do I need other programs alongside?
