Connecting My Old Samsung Printer

I have an OLD Samsung ML 3051 ND printer, which works like a charm. I have purchased a new Mac with Ventura 13.3. I am not able to get a driver to connect that printer. I would love to use the printer for some more time. Would anyone be able to help?

Thanks and regards

Hi,

First of all, be very careful. There are several dubious "support" sites on the Internet, often with misleading names. Only download drivers from a trustworthy source, such as the printer manufacturer (Samsung printers are now part of HP) or Apple.

If you cannot find a driver for exactly this printer, the ML-3051ND seems to support postscript and PCL emulation, so you could perhaps carry out an experiment with generic postscript printer software (or possibly a generic PCL driver) available for macOS. See also the Use option under the Add a network printer by specifying its IP address section in Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac – Apple Support (UK).

As always, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files before testing anything.
