Airpods not connecting

I have airpods 1st gen. Recently the airpod accidentally dipped into water I tried taking it out immediately and tried drying it with a towel. But now…my airpods are popping up on my ipad to connect. They are flashing green. But when I take the right airpod out..it flashes orange and when i take the left airpod out..it stays green (no flashing). Can you help me with what’s happening? What should i do?

btw idk if it’s not working from the water or something else.
