Can’t connect apples devices to the Bluetooth

I cannot connect either of my iPhone 7’s to my iPad Pro and vice versa. The error message says make sure the device has Bluetooth switched on and is in range. They are all next to each other but I still cannot connect.

I have rebooted all devices but no change. What causes Bluetooth to malfunction?

Why does this happen and what can be done to connect all my devices?

Correct. Direct bluetooth paring of iOS devices is not supported, never has been. Most features that require bluetooth between an iPhone and an iPad do not require the devices be paired. Just that Bluetooth be turned on.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish by pairing them?

No malfunction. Its this way by design. Its working as intended.

Nothing. There is no way to directly pair the devices over Bluetooth, but as said, this is unnecessary for most features that use Bluetooth.

What exactly are you trying to get them to do over Bluetooth beyond connecting them?
