I have tried multiple times to setup a wallpaper option that shuffles photos between my 2 children, but only 1 child is available when I go to select people. Teh only options are one child, my spouse and 3 other (seemingly random) people. Why aren't the same people available in Photos available in the Wallpaper shuffle setup? Anyone have a solution to this problem?

This issue has been so frustrating but I've finally found a fix (at least that worked for my phone)! Going in to my photo albums, I clicked the "People & Places" album and selected all the people I did not want included in the photo shuffle. Then I removed them from the "People" album. When I went back to wallpapers to set up the new Photo Shuffle, the only people shown were those that were left in my "People" album. Hopefully there's a legit fix soon but this works for now!

I have more than 5 people named and tagged on my photo album but i can only choose from 5 people when i try to to the photo shuffle wallpaper

I tried this, but the result is that just the one person I wanted in the album (and none of the others I'd like to add) appears in the Shuffle options. So: Not a solution for me (iPhone SE 2020, iOS 17.0.2).

This didn’t work for mine :/ the only advice I’ve gotten from Apple support was update iOS and leave connected to power for a few hours and locked…. Also seems weird that this is mostly happening to people’s kids… anyone having an issue finding an adult ? Maybe this has to do with their changing face & recognizing them?
I had this issue both on iOS 16/17. On top of that, the people I could chose only had old pictures available.
The fix for me was:
It did work for me, and I chose the people i want on my wallpaper shuffle.But when I had to go back to add 1 more person, i was back at square 1. Again, it only shows 6 random people from my list of 30, and they weren’t the ones i wanted on my shuffle
Same issue and also with my kids, which is especially funny for me because two of my kids are identical twins and the app has a lot of trouble distinguishing them. I ended up telling photos that they are the same person, which seems to have made them disappear entirely from my wallpaper options.
But I’m guessing most people are talking about this for their kids because it’s the most obvious and fulfilling used case. It was actually working for me for a couple months, though it seemed to not show all of the kids evenly, but I can’t be sure if that’s just because some get more photos taken of them than others. 🤣🤣
Anyway, I am merely awaiting a fix for this and will have to go back to a boring old wallpaper until then.
Deleting all the people in the People album did not work for me. I deleted everyone and waited 3 days and went back to the photo shuffle and it's still the same 2 people I had before (my kids). My wife is the one that doesn't show up, so everyone saying it's an issue with kids only is not my case. This has happened on my last 2 phones (iPhone 11 and now iPhone 14 Pro).
Yeah just to add for me it fixed my issue of not seeing faces from my photo album in the Lock Screen but when selecting people in the lock screen shuffle there are no images even though the photo app shows them. So it’s taken me a step forward but still broken.
Same. I did finally get my wife to show up but if I selected only her, there were no photos of her in the shuffle preview. Then after a couple of days, only my 2 kids were showing up again. There's something about this that just doesn't work. Maybe it's the photos that are available? Maybe there are characteristics about the photo such as how the person in the photo is framed in the photo that make it a candidate for showing up as one of the dynamic photos. You would think Apple would publish a document on the attributes of a photo it will use for the dynamic wallpaper, but I haven't seen one.
I’m getting the same issue. My guess is this is a big so hopefully it gets fixed with an update at some point.
This worked for me too but don’t add the people you removed before back to your library.

When trying this I only get an option for cities and nature. I use to have the people option but now it is gone since the last update 17.2 I believe. Is there a setting to get this back?
