Photos showing in Gmail app “attachments” aren’t most recent

For the life of me, I cannot understand why the photos available in the screenshot for me to click on directly never update. That car dashboard image is from like a year ago. Is this the Gmail app or iOS causing this? It seems like a small thing but it’s an annoying thing bc it takes me some time to remember again how to access my most recent photo I’m trying to attach. Thanks.

Perhaps you may need to be certain each item used for attachments from

'google directed' source, are referred to directly each time those are used.

Sometimes the items found when looking ahead of that process, are not

what you'd expect; as I've found across a few devices of various OS.

There appears to be layers of items or folders; you need to look further

each time, since the gmail iOS app and even login by browser, has knack

for finding older stuff by default. Maybe try changing the path, to see if

that helps choose what you find. ~ Google online has images; (not Drive)

while that's separate login than gmail, it also may have some bearing.
