Apple support's article says:

Update your Beats wireless headphones or earphones - Apple Support

says

"Firmware updates are delivered automatically while your Beats headphones or earphones are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac that's connected to Wi-Fi."

"You can also use your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to check that your Beats have the latest version.

Make sure that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS"

To "Use your iPhone or iPad to check your Beats firmware version

To use your iPhone or iPad to check that your Beats headphones or earphones are up to date, go to Settings > Bluetooth,

then tap the Info button next to the name of your Beats. Scroll down to the About section to find the firmware version".
