How to update Mac OS X Lion on Mac Book Pro Retina 13”, late 2012 model after upgrading SSD?

Reason for Mac OS X Loin 10.8.5, original reinstall; I upgraded my SSD from existing 256GB to 768GB on my MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch, late 2012 model. The SSD storage had almost reached its maximum capacity. However, after upgrading the SSD and installing the MacOS-X, I learned MacOS X Lion 10.8.5 is outdated. For this reason, Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, AppleStore and many more apps or downloads are retired. What steps can I take to upgrade to MacOS Catalina 10.15.5, again?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

You might need to do the uograde in two steps - first getting the .DMG for Sierra, then installing it, then using the Aoo Store in Sierra to get Catalina.
