Timezone display in SharedAlbum slideshow

In a Shared Album slideshow (that is, the Slideshow produced in the webpage display of a Shared Album), it nicely displays the date&time of the photo: if no caption, then on the bottom-right corner of the screen; if caption, then centered underneath the caption.

However, it displays the date&time converted to the current timezone! NOT the timezone of the place where the photo was taken!

Strange, eh?

Can anyone explain why this is, and why the Apple programmers would make such a "bug, not a feature"?

You may want to send feedback to Apple to change this behavior. Preferably, by displaying each date and time with a timezone suffix. Feedback - Photos - Apple

Apple has already improved the handling of the date and time. Until recently, the dates and times have been stripped completely from the shared photos for privacy reasons. We could not share photos with the location s and the date and time attached. The recent versions of Photos allow us to sort the photos chronologically by the date. The location is still not shared with the photos, so the subscribers will have no way to know, where the photo has been taken. So the date and time have to be converted to a uniform timezone. And it will be displayed in the timezone of the user, as the Photos does not know the location the shared photo has been taken.
