How to setup an ipad 2 generation asking to connect to Itunes?

Hello, I have a very old ipad 2 gen, that i wanted to get back to life, when I plugged it into my macbook, is displaying the itunes logo along with the connection cable image.

When I tried to download the latest itunes (2019) from apple.com I noticed this is not compatible with the latest ios versions.

Any clue how should I make my ipad functional back again?

Thanks!

Hello Fedecurri,

It sounds like you need to restore the iPad to resolve some software issue and make it usable again. This process is explained here: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

If you are unable to restore it, these steps may help: If you can't update or restore your iPad - Apple Support.

Regarding the iTunes version, you might use Finder on your Mac or iTunes on older Macs or PCs. This section explains more on that: "On a Mac with macOS Catalina, open Finder. On a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier, or on a PC, open iTunes. If iTunes is already open, close it, then open it again. Find out which macOS your Mac is using." If you're using a Mac, updating the macOS will make sure you have the latest version of Finder & iTunes your Mac can use.

We hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist with anything else at all. Take care.
