Using Physical Security Keys and Family Sharing effects

Hello All...

I would like to secure my AppleId with security keys. My only concern is the effect of doing this on members of my Family Sharing.

All members use their own AppleId, and are not child accounts of mine. They are completely seperate.

In the end, am I still able to share iCloud storage and apps (etc) if I setup my AppleId with security keys..??

Thanks..!!!

Yes you are still able to Family Share; there is no impact on other members of your family.

That said be VERY SURE of what you are doing.

Once installed, the security keys become your ONLY means of 2FA for your AppleID.

We very rarely need our 2FA verification codes, but when we do need them, we need them REALLY BADLY.

In these situations, you’ll need access to one of your “up to six” registered security keys.
