There are two issues:

  1. If your phone is carrier-locked to AT&T, you will have to convince AT&T to release the carrier lock before you can switch to another carrier.
  2. Once you get your phone unlocked (or verify that it is unlocked), you'll need to ask T-Mobile to give you an eSIM. iPhone 14 models sold in the U.S. take electronic SIMs (eSIMs), instead of physical SIM cards.

Transferring Between Cellular Providers:

Talk to AT&T. They perform the transfer of the eSIM card. As for transferring data, enable items in iCloud settings, and it should then be accessible through iCloud --not the iPhone itself.

Syncing Items Via iCloud:

As an example, here is how to do so for Photos:

I. On an iPhone:

Sync with iCloud, manually:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Your Name (Top Item)
  3. Tap: iCloud
  4. Tap: Photos
  5. Enable: iCloud Photos

II. On a Mac:

Access from iCloud, manually:

  1. Go To: icloud.com
  2. Select: Photos
  3. Download: the Photos
