I cannot change or edit my Macbook Pros user picture.

I transferred everything from my old Macbook Air to my new Macbook Pro using time machine a few months ago. One thing that transferred was the user picture. Now when I go to change it because it's a really old picture, nothing happens. I click on the image in user and groups and nothing pops up or does anything. However, I messed around and created a new account and I'm allowed to change the photo for another account, just not my main account. I felt like I've looked at almost every discussion board and no one else has this problem so I'm not sure what to do.

If you change your user picture in your home card of the Contacts app it will change it everywhere else. Just drag the photo you want to use over the current photo in your contact card.



If you don't reboot your Mac as satcomer believes you should at least every other day. That will clear out system and application temporary cache and swap files and keep the Mac lean and mean. Personally, I shut down every night and boot up in the morning.
