1. Apple Official Service:

• Cost: The cost to replace an iPad Pro 12.9-inch screen out-of-warranty was around $649, but it might have changed. With AppleCare+, the fee might be less.

• Service: Yes, Apple does provide this service. You can visit an Apple Store or an authorized service provider. Always best to make an appointment at the Genius Bar.

• Note: If your iPad has additional damage, there might be extra charges.

2. Third-Party Repair Shops:

• Cost: Prices vary based on the shop’s location, expertise, and the quality of the parts they use. It can be significantly cheaper than Apple but ensure you’re confident in their quality and reputation.

• Service: Many third-party shops offer iPad screen replacements. Some even offer mobile services where they’ll come to you.

• Note: Going with third-party repairs might void any remaining warranty you have with Apple.

3. DIY (Do It Yourself):

• Cost: A replacement screen kit for the iPad Pro 12.9 3rd generation could be anywhere from $150 to $300 based on the quality and what’s included in the kit.

• Service: This is a hands-on approach. There are online tutorials and videos to guide you. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re tech-savvy and patient, you might consider it.

• Note: This option can be risky. If something goes wrong, you might end up with more issues. It will also void any Apple warranty.

4. Trade-In or Upgrade:

• If your iPad is older and you’ve been thinking about an upgrade, maybe it’s time. Apple and other retailers often have trade-in programs where you can get some credit for your damaged device towards a new one.

5. Check Your Credit Card Benefits:

• Some credit cards offer protection or insurance for purchases. If you bought your iPad with such a credit card, you might have a broken screen coverage benefit. Worth a check!

6. Homeowner’s or Renter’s Insurance:

• Sometimes, these insurances can cover accidental damages to electronics. Check with your insurance provider; there might be a deductible.

Tap the links above and follow all other instructions and links to get an estimated cost.

Most Apple Store locations DO NOT actually repair iPads, but offer in/out of warranty device replacements.

If your iPad has a paid, AppleCare+ warranty plan, the replacement iPad ( in lieu of an actual repair/replacement ) will be a small fee ( used to be $49 U.S.D. this may have changed ).

If NO paid AppleCare+ warranty plan, the replacement iPad ( in lieu an actual screen replacement will be expensive, costing, at least, 50% of the original Apple OEM cost of your iPad model.

For eligible iPad models, you check verify repair cost in your country/region here:

iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

You can use Apple’s mail-in repair service, or you can arrange repair via the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP):

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair. When exchanged, the replacement iPad is yours to keep.
