We cannot know. We are not Apple. As your fellow end users we have no more access to Apple databases than you.

The most important part of that article is "View your purchase history." If Apple does NOT show a record of the charges in your history, it is very possible that scammers have gained access to your credit card or bank number and are pretending to be Apple. It happened to us.

If that is the case, only your CARD ISSUER or BANK can remedy it.

If Apple’s purchase history shows the purchase, continue with the instructions in that article.

Good morning H,

I'm fairly sure it's a scam. I've seen a lot of similar posts here that show that format. I think that is how those show up on iOS devices.

However, the problem you and I have is a lack of follow-up from OPs as to what they found. The "purchase history" results are key to gauging the effectiveness of our remote troubleshooting efforts in these kinds of issues.

I composed my usual response based on our experience in a similar matter including conversations with a very helpful AMEX customer service agent when this happened to us. AMEX had the charges identified as bogus, forgave the debt, and issued my wife a new card number, all in under 24 hours. Great service.
