I've a series 5 , 44mm watch. When it's kept on a flat surface the touch screen doesn't work. Even otherwise when worn on hand or held, there is lag. I'm on OS version 9.6.1.
Please let me know if anyone knows how to fix.

Try and force restart the watch to see if the issues are persisting
To force restart, hold down the side button and the Digital Crown at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
