Why do you ask? Are you getting notifications that someone is searching your info? If so, it is a scam notification. Do not respond to the notification.
No, nothing suspicious. I've tried to look up old friends and wondered who, if any, might have been trying to find me.
Look them up where?
I'm hoping to find out who may be looking ME up.
There are a number of outfits that says they can identify anyone who has been Googling my name, but I'm not comfortable with such folks. I was hoping to find someone in the "Community" who has safely managed to find out who has been Googling them.
Haha I can’t imagine how that would work but I wish you luck.
I think you'd need to hire a professional (detective?). And, if it is inexpensive, remember the old saying: you get what you pay for.

Some suggestions: https://www.spokeo.com/compass/find-out-who-is-searching-for-me-online/
Thanks. I guess I'll drop the idea.
That might work as long as you have not invoked your privacy rights and sent them a letter directing them to eliminate your name from any search (which I have). You have to renew that occasionally.

For Google, and specifically for the section discussing Google Alerts, and for those that have opted out, yes.
There are other entities that collect and monetize this and other metadata.
A quick search (not using Google) finds nine more providers, and there are undoubtedly others.
My letter went to Spokeo. I don't do anything Google - used to have a Gmail account many years ago until they started to openly monetize it, so I closed it.
Thank you for your response. Are there one or two of the nine that you can recommend or have used yourself?

I’ve used Google Alerts for alerts, but not for this purpose.
An example search for some of the alternatives: https://alternativeto.net/software/google-alerts/
From those, you will find others.
You know your needs and budget and expectations best, and will want to do your own due diligence.
