how to make photo transfer form iPhone to mac via wifi more like using a cable as far as user control of what is transferred to where?

With a cable connection iPhone to Mac, you can see the iPhone in the mac photo app, select the photos you want to load, load them, and move them into the proper folder.

Going wireless you select upload on a photo (or group of photos thought I have not tired that) select airDrop, select the Mac and the phots appear in the downed folder on the mac.

Is there way to have the wireless methods more like the cable method as far as controlling it all from the Mac photo app?
