What is launch date in 2010 for iPad 1st Gen?

On launch day in 2010 I purchased my first iPad at the Apple Store at Caesar's Palace, LV. Unfortunately the receipt printed on thermal paper has faded and a blow dryer is ineffective in restoring legibility.

I thought I had a receipt emailed to me as well, but it appears not. I want the receipt or facsimile thereof to verify the provinence that indeed it was purchased on the morning of launch day. Does Apple retain such information? Would entering the serial number in a request to Apple be sufficient? Anyone looking for a 64GB iPad 1st Gen?

Last point first - other than as a curiosity, the long-ago obsolete iPad1 has no value - and limited usefulness.

Heating thermal paper with a hairdryer will do nothing more than obliterate any visible print. Heat causes thermal paper to darken.

Apple is not known to retain purchase data for extended periods. In many countries/regions, data that can be linked with individuals is often destroyed after a defined period of time in line with data retention laws and legislation.

Thanks LP,

Unfortunately I must agree the current value is circling the drain, however who knows, there are collectors out there who may be interested. Think of the Apple II desktop or an original iPhone in a box. Too bad I had to destroy the box before returning to Canada.

Actually, a blow dryer is proving to be somewhat effective in producing a ghost of the printed image. Regardless, it is only the second Apple product I had purchased and I should have taken better measures to ensure answers to the questions I pose today. Still, does anyone have record of the Launch date in 2010? Thanks
