I don’t want a payment method on my account . I just need to update what’s app , how can I do that and choose no payment method in the process?


im trying to update what’s app this is popping up , I don’t want a payment method on my phone , and it’s not giving me the option to choose none (no payment method)

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16

You can download free apps, but you may need to have a valid payment method on file, even if the app you want to download is free. 

Free apps has also In-app pruchase.

Tap Continue and sign in to view ‘your’ billing information.

To verify your payment information, you need to Sign in to your Apple ID account page and edit / update your Apple ID details -> https://appleid.apple.com                                                     

  • On the Sidebar click Payment methods -> then tap Payments Methods and tap Manage payment method.

fyi: Not all credit & debit cards seem to work with App Store / iTunes Store, try a different one, or preferably a credit card. If your card is not accepted as a paymenf method, you need to contact your bank.

The alert states that you have a payment default with a previous purchase. Your account has been frozen and you won't be able to use it again until you speak directly to Apple Support and resolve the issue. You usually need to have added a valid payment method to your account. Even to re-download or update apps and for free apps.
