"Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys on external keyboards" is not there for me.

How to use F1, F2, etc. keys on Satechi keyboards without pressing fn key I love my Satechi X3 Bluetooth Backlit Keyboard. However, in either USB or Bluetooth mode, System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard doesn't show the option "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.". Only when I use Apple's OEM keyboards, this option appears. However, if I press the fn and esc keys on the Satechi keyboard, this option is enabled. No utilities are needed. Pressing this key combination again disables the option. I suspect that it would work with other third-party keyboards as well.

Brand new apple keyboard but can't see "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” I bought a brand new apple keyboard with numeric keypad, and want to use the function keys for volume etc, but when I go to adjust the Function keys in system preferences as I had with my old keyboard, "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” is not appearing at all. See pic. Any ideas why?

no function key on my external apple keyboard My Apple keyboard has F1…F19 keys on it but no FN key. I cant access the Fx keys. What gives?????

Explain, It's in your screen shot. If you are using a third party keyboard it may not be an option.
