How To

is there a way to read the screen behind a text that you touch and hold? You know how everything else gets blurred except what you’re holding, is there a way to unblur the messages behind in a screenshot?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16

There is no built-in feature in iOS that allows you to unblur or reveal the content behind a touched and held message on the screen. When you touch and hold a message on an iPhone, it activates a feature called "3D Touch" (or "Haptic Touch" on devices without 3D Touch), which provides a preview or additional actions related to that message. The rest of the screen is intentionally blurred to focus your attention on the selected content.

Taking a screenshot of the blurred screen wouldn't provide you with access to the content behind the blurred area. The blurring effect is part of the design of iOS and is intended to enhance user privacy.
