i shifted the photos from external hard drive to new mac. now these do not open up.

Version 8 should had no problem opening a Version 6 library. How is the external drive formatted. If it's not formatted either APFS or OS X Extended (journaled) then that's why it won't open. Libraries must be on drives formatted as mentioned above.

i shifted photos from old mac to an external hard drive. now these wont open in new mac. looks like old photos are version 6 whereas photos app in new mac is version 8. how to sort out this problem?
