Cannot download apps, keeps asking for password; using Family Setup

Apple Watch SE set up for my kid using Family. It worked fine with my older son. Reset and erased for next kid. Whenever he tried to download an app (clicks Get) he receives the message "Apple ID Verification Enter the password for…” It takes us to the Settings where we enter password. It seems to accept it and leaves us in Settings. Go back to App Store. And Get button is still there. Clicking it will ask for password again; redo cycle.


So far I have:

-reset son’s iCloud/apple password

-Reset Apple Watch (several times)

-tried with “Ask to Buy” on and off

-Added some money to Apple Cash (not sure why I did that)

-in his account settings in Family, ScreenTime > Content & Privacy Restriction > iTunes & App Store Purchases: made sure all were set to Allow

-ensured apps he is download meet his content restrictions


What else can I do???? Help!!!

We understand that you're unable to download apps on this Apple Watch used with Family Setup. From your description, it sounds like you've reset the password for the Apple ID in question and have done some other troubleshooting as well, including erasing the Apple Watch. Is that right?
