That is not the question. The question is how do you enter the 12 digit code offered by apple tech support when dealing with a problem.

A code for what exactly?
Apple tech support do not offer coupon codes.
If any code was provided, it generally would be an 16-digit iTunes or App store code and would be entered the same way a Gift Card code is entered.
If you got a code for something else, then please explain exactly what this "Apple Tech support" told you it was for and what to do with it.
