I have a 2013 macbook air, using Big Sur OS.
the instructions I see online don't help me find out about my battery's health.

Another option is to Option-click the battery icon on the menu bar. If there is a problem with the battery, then it will say "Service Recommended". Unfortunately if the battery is good, then there will be no condition listed.

Try Apple Menu/About This Mac. Then click on System Report and, under Hardware, click on Power. Battery Information should be at the top, and under that will be Health Information. Condition is the main thing. If it says Normal, then your battery has ~100% capacity. I don't remember what it says when the battery has degraded (I changed the battery in my 2013 13" MBP a few months ago, but I don't use it much) but it will give you an idea. My apple menu does not have system settings, only system preferences. When I click battery it just tells me how much it is charged up, not the overall health of the battery. When I click the battery icon there it just give sme options about turning display off, etc.
Yes, this was how to find battery info, thanks! It does say normal. I was having problems charging and thought that might be it; probably is the cord. Thanks so much for taking the time to help me. I am grateful.

To view your battery's condition, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Battery in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
