Cellular Voice Call Forwarding is a carrier-specific feature on an iPhone, meaning that its availability, activation process, and any associated charges can vary depending on the cellular service provider you are subscribed to. This feature allows you to divert incoming calls from your iPhone to another designated phone number, ensuring that you never miss important calls, even when you're unable to answer on your primary device.
To enable or configure Call Forwarding on an iPhone, you need to utilize the carrier-specific call forwarding code provided by your cellular service provider. The code usually consists of a combination of characters, often starting with "*" and ending with "#," followed by the phone number to which you want your calls forwarded. Call forwarding - Wikipedia
Due to the variations among different carriers, it is essential to consult your specific cellular provider to gain a better understanding of how to use this feature effectively. They can provide you with the accurate call forwarding code and offer insights into any potential charges that might be associated with call forwarding usage.
When activating Call Forwarding, your iPhone will automatically redirect incoming calls to the designated phone number, and callers will be unaware that their calls are being forwarded. Once the forwarding is enabled, your iPhone will no longer ring for incoming calls; instead, the forwarded number will receive the calls.
To deactivate Call Forwarding, you can again use the carrier-specific code provided or contact your carrier's customer support for assistance. Remember that some carriers may have specific restrictions or limitations on call forwarding, such as international forwarding or the number of forwarding attempts.
Overall, contacting your carrier is the best course of action to gain a comprehensive understanding of Call Forwarding on your iPhone. They can provide detailed information about the feature, clarify any doubts you may have, and ensure that you can efficiently manage your incoming calls to suit your needs.
For information about conditional call forwarding (if available from your carrier) when the line is busy or not in service, contact your carrier for setup information.
