Rapid scrolling is a bug, not a feature

Why is there no way to disable the most aggravating thing on the iPhone, rapid scrolling! If I’m way down in a family chat that started years ago, and I inadvertently touch the upper corner of the screen, I have to then manually scroll all the way back! You know it’s a bug, because you can’t turn it off.

Are you referring to the gesture mentioned below?

For Rapid scrolling in an iPhone you first need to reveal the scroll bar by swiping once on the page. Then, tap and hold the scroll bar until you feel a haptic tap. This will allow you to pick up the scroll bar and move it up or down to scroll quickly. Is this a bug?

Here are the steps on how to do rapid scrolling on an iPhone:

  1. Swipe once on the page to reveal the scroll bar.
  2. Tap and hold the scroll bar until you feel a haptic tap.
  3. Move your finger up or down to scroll quickly.

You can also use this gesture to scroll to the top or bottom of a page by tapping and holding the scroll bar and then dragging it all the way up or down. Tapping and Holding is a bug?

I want to turn off whatever it is that happens when my finger inadvertently touches the very top left corner of the screen, and it automatically jumps to the very top of that ever is on the screen at that moment. If I’m looking at photos and I’m at the bottom, where the newest photos are, it will jump to the very top of the photos section where the oldest photos. Yes it’s a bug, because you can’t turn it off!
