Poor microphone quality on AirPods Pro 2nd gen

I replaced my AirPod Pros last year and now I’m having the same issues as before - poor microphone quality (listeners report I sound muffled, under water, far away) and rattling in one AirPod. I’ve cleaned them for debris, tried changing the noise cancellation/ transparency mode, changed background sounds, voice isolation, completely reset and reconnected, etc and nothing has worked. Has anyone switched to the standard AirPods and been happier? I’ve had it with these.
