I've been through that before and I doubt that Apple or anyone other than your internet service provider (ISP) can address this geographic error. Why?
We had an identical issue with service in an Idaho state park where I volunteered. The only provider we could get at first was a now-defunct wireless service, ClearWire. They contracted with a out-of state company for equipment sharing. It was quite a shock to be in an Idaho park and find that we were sited in Trenton, New Jersey! That's far more than 335 miles.
That mislocation affected both Mac and Windows computers, which is why I suspect your case is an ISP issue as well. Your ISP is probably sharing equipment with a bigger provider in KC to save investing in hardware.
When the Idaho park could afford a better service, we went with an established and better-equipped Idaho ISP and now our location is 100% correct, even though the provider is 35 miles away.
So start with your ISP support.
